You may have gone out to the cider mill with family, bought fresh apples or even made homemade apple cider yourself, but on November 7th you can add one more fall activity to your list with a one-of-a-kind hard cider tasting festival right here in Asheville!
The 3rd Annual CiderFest NC is hosted by and benefiting the Western North Carolina Green Building Council and will take place in the WNC Farmers Market. The festival began as a fundraiser to showcase locally grown apples, cheeses and ciders and held 400 attendees the first year, making it the first and biggest hard cider tasting festival in North Carolina.
This year will feature the best of the best of locally-produced hard ciders as well as out of state ciders, imported ciders, mead, food pairings, local arts and live music. Over 20 cider makers will to be showcasing their hard work for the festival.
If you get hungry, no need to worry! There will be a new chef’s station of small plates for you to try with all dishes centering around apples. Local creameries will also be offering cheese samples.
Get ready to dance! The festival will feature local bands from the Asheville area playing unplugged so you can get up close and personal. You’ll hear music while you’re waiting to try a cider, getting in line to eat or just sitting back and enjoying the day.
There will be a home cider making booth for all of those attendees who want to take their love for cider to the next level. The booth will offer cider making kits, demonstrations and an area for home makers to share their cider with each other and give advice.
You can even bring the kids to the festival. This year, there will be an interactive children’s area that is focused on teaching kids the importance of green living. There will be educational activities and demonstrations for both kids and adults.
The 3rd Annual CiderFest NC is bound to be a fun time for you and the family, so get your tickets today and put it on your calendar!
